Age UK York has been announced as the nominated charity for this year's York Community Carol Concert, which returns to York Barbican on Sunday, December 13.
The much-loved festive event, now in its 68th year, will bring together families and communities from across York for an afternoon of Christmas carols, seasonal music and festive entertainment, while raising money for local causes.
Organisers have confirmed that this year's concert will support both the Lord Mayor and Sheriff of York's Christmas Cheer Fund and Age UK York.
The annual concert has become a long-standing tradition in the city's Christmas calendar, welcoming hundreds of people to York Barbican each December.
This year's line-up will feature performances from York RI Golden Rail Band, Huntington School Big Sing Choir, Copmanthorpe Primary School Choir, soloist Alexandra Mather and regular performer Steve Cassidy.
Musical director Mike Pratt will lead the community singing, while Rev Andrew Foster and Adam Tomlinson will host the event. ge UK York has been announced as the nominated charity by The Press for York's Annual Community Carol Concert. (Image: Age UK York)

The concert traces its roots back to 1958 and remains one of York's most popular festive community events.
Last year's event raised thousands of pounds for local charities, demonstrating the continued generosity of residents and supporters across the region.
As well as providing a traditional start to the Christmas season, the event offers an opportunity for local organisations to showcase their work and connect with residents while raising funds for important causes.
Organisers are encouraging people of all ages to attend and join in with the community singing.
Ben Hardy, editor of The Press and the Gazette & Herald, said: "The Community Carol Concert has been bringing people together for generations and remains one of the highlights of York's festive calendar.
"We are delighted that Age UK York will be our nominated charity this year.
