Committee members of York's Annual Community Carol Concert were able to present a total of £6200 to local charities out of proceeds from last year's "Carols at the Barbican" concert held at York Barbican in December.
The Lord Mayor of York, Cllr Rev Chris Cullwick, along with his civic party, received £2500 towards the Lord Mayor of York's Christmas Cheer Fund which provides Christmas receptions for 400 local senior citizens.
Representatives from the Snappy Trust, a small charity, based in York, dedicated to maximising the personal development of children and young people with wide ranging disabilities also received £2500.
Long-standing stalwarts of the Carol Concert, York Hospital Radio received £1000 towards their funds as they now approach their 60th anniversary.
Smaller donations of £100 each were donated to York Against Cancer and Martin House Children's Hospice.
The 2024 Community Carol Concert will be held at York Barbican on Sunday 15 December 2024 at 2.00pm with further details to come later.
