Although York Barbican staff had been in from midnight lowering the stage and rigging the lighting - committee members and volunteers of the Community Carol Concert also had an early start.

Decorating the Christmas tree, putting up the snowflakes, setting out the chairs and microphones - more importantly the tech team erecting the snow machines that were to be triggered during Steve Cassidy's new Christmas song - "We love the snow"
